Video
Electronystagmography is the new standard
for observing and recording eye movements.
Video infra-red technology allows simultaneous subjective
observation of your patient's eye movements (useful in observing Torsional
nystagmus) and objective collection and
analysis of eye movement waveforms during vestibular testing and
rehabilitation.

DiscoverTreatments.com
has a fully portable VENG and Light Bar which allows each facility to
offer this essential diagnostic testing to their patient population. This
technology allows us to objectively measure abnormalities of Brain
function as a consequence of Mild Traumatic Brain injury, as well as
monitor treatment in a variety of disorders including; ADD/HD,
Vertigo, Dystonia, Movement Disorders,
Scoliosis, Spinal Pain Syndromes, neck pain, and eye movement
disorders.
VENG allows the
examination of the brain, brainstem, cerebellum, and inner ear balance
system, utilizing Oculomotor and
Vestibular systems. These
body systems have central connections that may be involved in many
health conditions. Our
Doctors utilize this information to diagnose and treat using our Brain
Based approach.

Typical
Patient testing
- Spontaneous
Nystagmus test-
tests resting tone of the entire brain balance system.
May show abnormal Cerebello-vestibular
Tone
- Positional
Nystagmus test- tests
spinal influence on peripheral controls of eye movements and
balance.
- Caloric
testing- tests
peripheral controls of balance and eye movements
- Optokinetic
Nystagmus test- tests
central controls of eye movements
- Vestibulo-ocular
reflex testing- differentiates
central vs. peripheral lesions
- Oscillating
Pursuit testing- tests
central controls of smooth eye movements
- Saccadic
eye movement testing- tests
central controls of fast eye movement
- Dynamic
Visual Acuity- tests
inner ear balance systems
Compliance
American
National Standards Institute (ANSI S3.45 -- 1999)
"PROCEDURES FOR TESTING BASIC VESTIBULAR FUNCTION"
- The
digital light bar is available with the typical red LED's or
with yellow-green LED's preferred by the standard
- The
digital light bar accommodates all of the peak target
displacements defined in the standard
- When
the electrode option is used, a sample rate of 100 Hz is
utilized per ANSI S3.45 specifications
